- Deeksha is said to be getting paid a cool Rs.40 lakhs per film in Tollywood. Known for her sexy costumes and daring attitude, Deeksha agreed to debut opposite Vikram the moment she was narrated the script.

- Vikram, who is quite upbeat about his forthcoming release Deiva Thirumagan, has recently signed a magnum opus titled Karikalan, produced by S.S. Vasan and S. Parthi of SilverLine Film Factory.
L.I. Kannan, who has earlier worked for special effects in Enthiran, Anniyan, Eeram, Ghajini and Sivakasi, will direct this mega budget flick. According to sources, the film will have the right mix of periodic and contemporary elements.
- Zarine Khan (of Veer fame) will play the female lead while Harris Jayaraj will compose the music.
- It is said that the film will be made using Animatronics, Miniature, Computer Graphics and some portions have been shot already at Thalakonam forests.
- N. Karthik (who has worked as a associate cinematographer in Yaradi Nee Mohini and Enthiran) will handle the camera and Mahesh will take care of editing.
- S.S. Murthy and Maya Pandi are the art directors for this fantasy flick.
- If reports are to be believed, Vikram is trying to rope in Bollywood babe Katrina Kaif for his next film!
- The film, reportedly titled Karikalan, will be directed by Kannan (who has earlier worked with director Shankar).
- There are also reports that the film will be a made on a lavish budget with mesmerizing visual effects.
- Meanwhile, Vikram has already wrapped up his next release Deiva Thirumagan, which also has Anushka and Amala Paul in prominent roles.
- Reportedly Vikram will appear as Muthu, a man suffering with a mental disorder and his struggles to bring up his daughter.

- The film was certified by the censor board recently. Though the board stamped the film with a U/A certificate the members of the board seem to have praised the director for this venture. ‘Aanmai Thavarael’ discusses the issue of human trafficking. Kidnapping has crept up many-fold as a menace, with anyone from children to adults being kidnapped for various reasons, the main being ransom.
- Despite many curbs and checks at various points by the cops, this issue seems to be looming large and poses a challenge for the police.
- The scene in the film begins in Chennai and the camera travels to Goa.
- ‘Aanmai Thavarael’ sees John Vijay, Druvah, Sruthi, Sampath, Dharan, Panchu Subbu and Kanja Karuppu.
- Though the film deals with a very sensitive issue there are other elements too, specifically comedy, that supports the film. The director has interwoven the script of the film with romance.
