Renowned actress Rohini is all set to turn director. The actress, who looks pretty enough to fill up the role of the ‘young mother’ in Tamil films, has been staying away from the lime-light for the past many years. She, however, played a significant role in Kamal Haasan’s Virumandi a few years back. The actress has also been hosting reality television shows for regional channels.

Remembered best for her role as heroine in K. Bhagyaraj’s Pavunu Pavunudhan and in roles in films such as Magalir Mattum, Rohini has always been remembered as an actress of substance. There were many in the industry who thought that she could have achieved more given the fact that she had a very pretty face, expressive pair of eyes, a slim figure and above everything else, she dubbed in her own voice in almost all her films.

Recently, Rohini conducted a talent-hunt in and around the Districts of Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi to select the lead artistes to star in her maiden directorial venture. Wife of the late character actor Raghuvaran, Rohini’s search included artistes possessing knowledge of music and playing musical instruments. Many aspiring participants took part in the talent-hunt held at Seighunganallur Mahalakshmi Mahal.

Rohini is very happy at the enthusiastic turn-out witnessed at her talent-hunt in these Districts. She has revealed that based on their qualifications, the artistes would be selected. The date of launch of the film’s shoot would be announced later,
