Like in Hollywood, the Tamil film industry is also indulging in making sequels.

Ajith is currently acting in Billa 2. There is also news that he will be acting in Indian 2 produced by A M Rathinam. Now there is also a news that Ajith might do the lead role in the film Basha 2. Basha is a super duper hit film which had super star Rajnikanth in the lead role. Now a leading production house is taking steps to produce Basha 2.

Since Rajni will be busy in Raana, he will not be in a position to act in Basha 2. So the production house will be approaching Ajith for Basha 2. It is expected that the work connected with Basha 2 will commence soon.

Producer AM Rathinam, who had produced the smash hit film Indian, which starred Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar, is toying with the idea of making a sequel. The producer is planning to rope in director Shankar to direct the film with Ajith in the lead.

The initial discussions are likely to place soon, sources say. Shankar and Ajith were supposed to come together for Jeans, but this did not materialize and Prashanth bagged the offer. If Ajith and Shankar join hands, it would certainly turn out to be the most expected film of the year.
