‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan has been on the look out for a suitable heroine to pair up opposite him in his next film titled ‘Viswaroopam’. Selvaraghavan, who was to direct the film, walked out after he developed some ‘difference of opinion’ with Kamal Haasan on the issue of actress Gauthami’s participation during the story discussion.
After Selvaa’s exit from the film, it was decided that Kamal Haasan would direct the film himself. This would be his own directorial venture after ‘Hey Ram’, which he made almost a decade back. The next one to walk out of the film was Bollywood’s Sonakshi Sinha, who was signed up to play Kamal’s lead in the film. Sonakshi said the crew had ‘wasted’ her call-sheet dates and said she was quitting the film for good so that no further dates are wasted.
The offer to play Kamal’s lead was later given to Vidya Balan, who is presently starring in ‘The Dirrty Picture’, a film based on the life of the late ‘Silk’ Smitha. Without much publicity, Vidya too turned down the offer to play the heroine in ‘Viswaroopam’. The name of Sonam Kapoor, daughter of veteran actor Anil Kapoor and a popular heroine, was also said to be in the reckoning but Kapoor Jr says she was never approached to play the lead role in the Kamal-starrer.
Isha Sherwani, who is said to be dating Indian speedster Zaheer Khan, has been signed up to play Kamal’s sister in the film. As on date, though, the search is still on to locate a suitable heroine to star opposite Kamal
The actress is all that worried after her dates were allotted for Kamal Hassan’s Viswaroopam. While Deepika Padukone has allotted her dates to make her entry into Kollywood in a big way with Rajnikanth, Sonakshi Sinha has allotted dates for Kamal Hassan.
